MARCUS A. WILLIAMS
Mr. Marcus A. Williams is the Founder and Owner of MW Consulting, LLC. In this role, he is responsible for the overall leadership and management of MWC, outlining and guiding the organizational mission, strategic and operational plans, services and client work. Mr. Williams holds over ten years of professional communications experience as a consultant, strategist, executive manager, reporter and spokesman. Most recently, he served as the founding Director of the Office of Communications for both the DC Department of Health and DC Department of Housing and Community Development where he was responsible for establishing the mission and vision for the division, developing organizational structure, developing and implementing comprehensive strategic communications strategies and managing operating budgets upwards of $2 million.
The communications expert’s experience includes employers such as President Barack Obama Administration, Booz Allen Hamilton, U.S. House of Representatives, WTAJ-TV (CBS Affiliate), The Weather Channel, DC28-TV (now known as District 99), the Government of the District of Columbia and a host of local, regional and national print publications. This Washington, DC native holds a Masters degree in Corporate Communications from Georgetown University, Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University and a professional certification in Strategic Communications Management from Ithaca College. Mr. Williams also serves as a Commissioner, Treasurer and Chair of the Marketing Committee for the Washington DC Commission on Fashion Arts and Events.
Consultant – Public and Media Relations Manager
Ms. Brandi Dunnegan serves as the Public and Media Relations Manager for MW Consulting, LLC. In this role she develops and execute public and media relations strategic plans that will promote and progress the mission, campaigns and key initiatives of clients. The public relations architect and brand strategist brings over 15 years of professional experience in communications and has implemented, supervised and/or executed publicity campaigns for more than 150 motion pictures, as well as scores of television projects and consumer brand campaigns. Ms. Dunnegan has led local-market campaigns for an expansive client roster that include; 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Discovery Networks, ESPN, Moet and Chandon, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the DC Office of Film and Television. The Washington, DC native holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Marketing with a minor in Entrepreneurial and Strategic Management from the University of Maryland.
Consultant – Creative Director
Ms. Helen Efrem serves as the Creative Director for MW Consulting, LLC. In this capacity she creates design solutions that have a high visual impact, illustrates concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts of products and activities for clients, such as websites, advertising, books, magazines, posters, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identity. Ms. Efrem brings over 10 years of professional experience planning, designing, and executing design ideas/projects from start to finish. The creative director has worked in industries from media to architectural and engineers for employers such as; Marriott Hotels, Mars Chocolate, Sister 2 Sister Magazine and technology company CEB. She prides herself in her clean and modern design aesthetic and her proficient skill sets as a creating strategist, integrated global media planning and execution, creative content and experiential marketing that drive brand awareness, increase engagement and build loyalty with the clients she serve. The Seattle, Washington native holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Visual Media and Graphic Design from American University and is mentored and works closely with Corcoran Alum on a daily basis, which allows her to learn and experience new design techniques.
Consultant - Organizational Strategist and Business Developer
Ms. Shae Harris is the organizational strategist and business developer for MW Communications, LLC. In this role she leads the development and implementation of organizational strategy for clients and cultivates business relations for MWC. Ms. Harris brings a wealth of experience managing organizational strategy and executive management for public sector and non-profit entities to include; the DC Office of Returning Citizen Affairs, College Summit and Sasha Bruce Youthwork. The strategist has also developed initiatives and comprehensive plans for independent projects such as the Free Minds Book Club and Writing Workshop. The Columbus, Ohio native holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration at American University, Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from North Carolina A&T State University and professional certification in Nonprofit Executive Management from Georgetown University.
Consultant - Event and Social Media Manager
Ms. Crystal Edmonds oversees all event and strategic social media planning and execution for MW Consulting, LLC. Ms. Edmonds brings over seven years of experience designing, producing and managing events for numerous private and corporate clients. Ms. Edmonds’ leverages her creative mind to develop comprehensive interactive social media campaigns to support clients’ efforts to reach their target audiences. The well-versed social media expert has activated these skill-sets to cultivate and rejuvenate the social footprints of numerous clients in the beauty, tech and fashion industries in tier one urban centers. The Harlem, NY native holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University.
Consultant – Graphic Designer and Community Engagement
Ms. Stephanie Franklin serves as the lead graphic designer and community engagement manager for MW Communications, LLC. In this role she ensures that clients’ visual communications aligns with messaging and appeals to target audiences. She also develops and implements strategic plans to maximize community and stakeholder engagement to promote and progress client mission, campaigns and key initiatives. Ms. Franklin brings over five years of professional graphic design, campaign development, event management and policy experience to MWC. She has worked for public and private sector entities to include; the DC Office of Human Rights where she has managed campaigns leveraging social media and an array of diverse partners to attract various stakeholders and new partners in DC together to progress the mission of the organization. Her work has included designing graphic advertisements that advance varied human rights protections, producing videos that simplify complex subjects, including laws as well as curating multiple events. This Detroit, Michigan native holds a Bachelors of Arts in International and Comparative Politics from Western Michigan University.
Consultant – Copy Writer, Editor and Media Relations Specialist
Ms. Sonsyrea Montgomery serves as the copy writer, editor and media relations specialist for all MW Consulting, LLC clients. In this role, she is the principal author and proofreader for all communications materials and develops and implements comprehensive media strategies and social media plans to promote and advance the mission of organizations, campaigns and key initiatives of clients. Ms. Montgomery brings more than 20 years of experience as a professional writer. As a news reporter and blogger, she has published thousands of articles in the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Virginian Pilot, and other print media outlets. As a congressional communications director, she crafted hundreds of effective press releases and talking points for radio and TV. As a copywriter she has honed more than a million words of social media copy for clients. The proficient writer and media expert has taught Journalism at the prestigious University of Maryland Philip Merrill School of Journalism and has published, three books with The Big Six publishers. Her books include novels, Embracing the Love God Wants You to Have (ghost written for celebrity client Taffy Dollar, published by Harper Collins, 2014), and My Life After Islam, a second memoir on her life published by Simon & Schuster imprint Strebor Books, 2006). The Washington, DC native earned her Masters in Journalism from Regent University and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mass Media from The University of the District of Columbia.
